Prospective colloquium member?

Dan McLeod has been in touch to tell us that his daughter has delivered Jessie (7Lbs and 3Oz). Mother and child both well. I told him he didn’t look old enough to be a grandfather but I had my fingers crossed behind my back at the time (Joke Dan – Joke!).

Seriously wondeful news and I can anticipate everyone sharing in your joy. We will no doubt have pictures to look at on the occasion of the dinner.  Glad you will make the dinner Dan, before you head off to NZ.

Neither Dan nor Jessie - but the smiles say it all. Congratulations!!

In the meantime if you let me have your daughter’s address I will post out a placing request form for Baldragon Academy (one can never plan a child’s education too soon too soon).

Best Wishes to all Dan (from all).

As long as I don’t look like a great-grandfather John!! Yes it is a wonderful time – thanks to all who have been in touch – really appreciated – I’d now like to attend the Colloquium ‘from a distance’ (Bette Middler fan here!!) and communally with my NZ family – our blog will be a great help in this (thanks to you John!) – wishing you the most erudite of presentations and debates in 11-12 – I will miss that stimulation – so much look fwd to seeing you at our opening dinner – my best wishes Dan (Macleod of that ilk!)

  2. Remember when Teachers, Lecturers, Policemen, Police staff,Ambulance staff, Nurses, Midwives, Doctors and Fireman crashed the stock market, wiped out Banks, took billions in bonuses and paid no tax? No, me neither. Please copy and paste somewhere public for 24 hours to show your support against the government’s latest attack on pensions and public sector workers…and remember to thank Gordon Brown for deregulating banks so far this was allowed to happen.

Some of you might be interested in the inaugural annual lecture by the Charity ‘Children First’, which will be delivered by Bob Holman. It is at the Caledonian University on 6, December. Google ‘Children First Bob Holman’ for details. There is a £10 entry fee – it is a charity after all!

Bob Holman might be worth considering for the Colloquium.

Might you cobble together a brief pen profile of Bob Holman. I’ll put it on the Blog. I looked him up. Would you add additional weblinks by which people might look him up?
The idea of having him along appeals to me.

  5. Best Wishes

May I take the opportunity to wish everyone a very happy Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous New Year. I very much look forward to meeting you all again when things kick off in February.

    The Only Constant is Change

For information, I got a new job on Thursday and will be taking up the post of Rector at Montrose Academy in February or March. I will rely on the wisdom, guidance and friendships accumulated over the years of colloquium membership to sustain me in this newest challenge.
